The “Amazon of Europe Bike Trail” represents a completely new concept for a transnational long-distance cycle path. It connects five countries (Austria, Slovenia, Hungary, Croatia and Serbia) on two routes along the unique river wilderness of the Mur, Drava and Danube. With the help of a unique valorization program, special projects in future biosphere parks along the rivers are to be supported and sustainable entrepreneurship is to be developed on site. In addition, the Bike Trail will also have a wide variety of bookable products, which are to be processed by a transnational booking center.
The Amazon of Europe Bike Trail is supported by the funds of the Interreg Danube Transnational Programme (project code DTP2-002-2.2).
The Trail Angels are partners and work-package leaders in this fascinating project. We are responsible for the areas of product development, training, strategic marketing and organizational development. A challenging and interesting mammoth task to which we – together in an international team – dedicate ourselves with full commitment. The 3rd S-COM meeting in Osijek focused on many of our core tasks and we were able to set the course for the next project milestones. In addition to a total of five intensive workshop sessions, the colleagues from Osijek have also organized a varied outdoor program in which the unique Kopacki Rit Nature Park, a huge wetland in the confluence of the Danube and Drau and one of the absolute highlights in the Biosphere Reserve, have been explored.

The next (fourth) S-COM meeting will then take place at the end of September 2019 in Bad Radkersburg, in Styria.
Until then, we still have a lot of work to do.
