Nockberge Trail New information folder

The idea of implementing a bookable multi-day ski tour route across the UNESCO Biosphere Park Nockberge came from Kärnten Werbung and was implemented by the Trail Angels in 2017. The Trail Angels also took over the management of the official Nockberge Trail Info and Booking Center after the development phase was over. Within two seasons, a strong partnership was formed between Trail Angels, the destinations Katschberg, Nockberge and Bad Kleinkirchheim as product owners and Kärnten Werbung for marketing. The Nockberge-Trail ski touring traverse has developed sensationally within two seasons and positioned itself on the market as a bookable lighthouse project for wintery Carinthia away from the pistes.

Applying this successful model to the hiking season was somehow obvious, since the Nockberge Mountains are an unparalleled hiking paradise. No sooner said than done: The Trail Angels developed the hiking route on behalf of the three destinations Katschberg, Nockberge and Bad Kleinkirchheim until it was ready for booking last year and, as with the ski tour traverse, also took over the trail information and booking center. In the middle of the first hiking season we can report: The season is off to a great start, long-distance hikers are enthusiastic about the route landscape and service and Austria’s first bookable all-year trail has arrived on the market.
