An attempt at a ranking: In the past, we have often been asked at the Trail Info & Booking Center about the technical difficulty and physical demands of our trails.
I pedal four/five times and HUUIII – it’ s crazy how the e-bike goes off! Not like a Ferrari, where I would cause an accident by tapping the gas pedal, but rather soft and powerful like a Bentley. It’ not that I will ever drive one of those two cars in my life, but that’ s how I think it is.
What about the suitability of the Alpe-Adria-Trail for long-distance vegetarian hiking? No problem or do you have to suffer hunger after strenuous hiking days? No: no hunger – and yes: lots of enjoyment. The famous Carinthian national dish is even a vegetarian dish: the Carinthian Kasnudeln. Without this dish you don’t know Carinthia.
The Dobratsch is not elegant. It’s more of a hulk, sometimes even a bit rough with its gigantic landslide that crashed through its southern flank into the valley 650 years ago. A rough giant that is a stranger to the surrounding mountains.
I admit it: So far, I have avoided the Thorung La on my Nepal tours. For me too many trekkers follow the call of the “Greatest pass in the world”. This time I had no other choice – a review about my experiences.
By the turn of the millennium Nepal was considered the largest pedestrian zone in the world. And therefore, also a paradise for trekking. The landscape seemed too fractured and too rugged to build roads on. Particularly when a country is as poor as Nepal.
Fluid and salty – you got it right: the ocean, that’s where I wanna go! When I think of the warmth, blooming vegetation and the sun during the cold months of January, I can hardly wait for spring.
